Did you know that, nationally, only 32.5% of key leadership positions are held by women? Network Insurance Group (NIG) is committed to doing our part towards changing the narrative to one of diversity of thought, experience, and skill, equity, and inclusion. In particular, we wish to actively support the development of our future female leaders.
It is with great excitement that we announce the winner of NIG’s inaugural ‘Smashing The Glass’ Scholarship is Kirsty Harley. This annual scholarship includes attendance to the Women in Insurance Summit and the National Steadfast Convention, formal mentoring with female industry leaders in addition to structured Learning and Development opportunities for high-performing women within the organisation.
Throughout the competitive application process, Kirsty was able to demonstrate she embodies everything that it means to win an award where a key element and potential program of development is around the further progression of women within the insurance sphere.
On winning the scholarship, Kirsty said “The experience of the scholarship will provide significant professional development for myself and allow me to leverage that experience to support the ongoing growth of my colleagues. I hope to inspire other women in our industry to grow self-confidence and achieve their personal and professional goals”
Adam Farr, Chief General Manager, commented, “I was overwhelmed with the calibre of the women putting forward an application and this was echoed by the external panel whom commented positively on the commitment and dedication of our female cohort of leaders within NIG. To have Kirsty as our inaugural winner speaks volumes to the integrity of the award and the way in which we have approached the process..”
We would like to thank all the women who applied for the program and everyone involved in the application process. Further, we would like to extend our appreciation for the support given to us by several influential women whom represent our strategic carriers, in this case Allianz, QBE, and IQumulate.
We look forward to playing a role in Kirsty’s ongoing growth and seeing the development of a strong leadership group supported by this scholarship.
